“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

Foster Parenting

In 2014, my wife and I took this Scripture to heart and became foster parents! That’s right, at 55 years old with two grown sons, we embarked on a new parenting phase of our lives. And other than raising two boys, it’s the best decision we’ve ever made!

Approximately 60 kids a month are taken into the foster care system in Orange, Seminole and Osceola Counties. That’s over 700 children aged 0-18 entering the system every year!

And if there’s one thing we’ve learned during this process, it’s that you don’t need to be a hero to assist children in the foster care system. Anyone (including you!) can extend a helping hand.

If you don’t have the space or time to devote to becoming a foster parent, the Foundation for Foster Children is a great place to start. Sign up to be a mentor, volunteer, host a drive, or simply donate to a great cause.

Please consider helping the Foundation or—if you feel God is putting this ministry on your heart—consider becoming a foster parent. You may not be able to help all 19,000 children currently in the system, but you can make a world of difference to one.

Feel free to contact me anytime to answer any questions you have about the foster parent experience.

Kiwanis Club of Orlando

For 2018-2019, I will be serving as the President of the Kiwanis Club of Orlando.

This organization has been close to my heart for a long time, and I am eager to serve the local community with an incredible group of people.

It’s easy to forget that there are communities in Orlando that have a need for service, funding, or just a ready and helping hand. The Kiwanis Club has stepped in to so many different areas that give back to local children all year long.

Feel free to drop by one of our weekly meetings to see how you can get involved in the community.

One person can make a difference.
